Under the guidance of teachers and educators, ÄÚÉäÊÓÆµ College students are led to understand ‘veritas’ or truth in the world. In particular, how Gospel values can be applied to situations of difference and to serving the vulnerable. This approach is enmeshed and supported in the curriculum and extends practically beyond the classroom.
Project Compassion is Caritas Australia's annual Lenten fundraising and awareness raising appeal. Our College houses come together in solidarity to help end poverty, promote justice and uphold dignity.
Our Patron’s feast day focuses on the work of the Dominicans with those who are poor and marginalised; the students' fundraising efforts are directed to the Dominican community in the Solomon Islands.
ÄÚÉäÊÓÆµ College is a member of the FIRE Carriers program which seeks to keep the reconciliation flame alight in schools and to educate the wider community about reconciliation, as well as our shared history and cultures. FIRE Carriers raise awareness about reconciliation through activities, fund raising for the Open the Doors Foundation, acknowledging traditional Custodians and celebrating significant dates in our shared history.
The annual International Women's Day event held in March each year raises funds to support the work of Sr Sheila Flynn OP and the Kopanang Community Trust in South Africa. A former ÄÚÉäÊÓÆµ student is invited back to deliver the keynote address, sharing her experiences at ÄÚÉäÊÓÆµ and how she has been influenced to show mercy and compassion in her chosen professional field.
